Just like in athletic coaching, children’s life coaches use a variety of exercises and activities to build children’s mental health, social and emotional skills. Every session will likely be a little different.
Here are some of the core activities and tools we use during life coaching sessions:
Early childhood social-emotional learning tools
Children’s bibliotherapy books to teach emotional awareness and coping skills
Emotional ABCs curriculum for children ages 4-11 to teach children to understand and better manage their emotions focusing on the following: understanding their emotions, developing an emotional vocabulary to express their emotions appropriately, allowing them to slow themselves down rather than acting impulsively and emotionally.
GoZen curriculum on the following topics for children ages 6-15 to teach skills to manage anxiety, stress relief, well-being, resilience, growth mindset, anger transformation, mindfulness, negative thought relief, and procrastination
