As much as they may struggle to fit in, each teen is a unique individual. That means the best approach to helping them is to create a unique path to follow to mental health. We can help you find what will work best for your teen and their unique situation.
In general, we offer a mix of traditional and cutting-edge approaches for teens:
Individual Counseling
This approach is often what people think of when they think of counseling: an interaction between a trained professional and someone looking for help on a regular basis. Our practices are rooted in our founder’s extensive experience counseling in Dexter’s public school system. We don’t limit ourselves to any one philosophy or theory, but often pull from Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused counseling approaches, Mindfulness techniques, Emotionally Focused techniques, Somatic theory, Internal Family Systems, Positive Psychology, and Motivational Interviewing.
ADHD Assessment, Diagnosis and Treatment
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can result in a variety of negative outcomes for teens. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. With proper diagnosis and treatment, teens can reach their full potential in school and life. We offer a three-session assessment that can diagnose whether ADHD is affecting your child. Once diagnosed, we help children learn strategies for not letting ADHD hold them back.

Safe and Sound Protocol
For teens dealing with sound-based sensitivities or looking to improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation and social engagements, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) can help through filtered music listening sessions. This evidence-backed approach helps retune the nervous system from being on “defense” back into a natural state of social engagement.
